Our Dachuahua~ Nina
So, as many here know, we basically run our own rescue. Any unwanted, abandoned, throw-away animal seems to find their way to us.
Casey came to us because my brother's GF's son loved him as a pup, but, as he got older, he was going to give him to a friend...that my brother knew fought Pitts. As a Lab/Pitt mix, we knew what would happen to him, so, come on in!! He has the temperament of a Lab, a real sweetie!
Sadie showed up in my yard in February 2002. She was approx. 5 mos old. Imagine my surprise when I opened my back door and found this sweet little puppy sound asleep on the porch. How exactly did she get into my fenced yard?? Human intervention, is my guess.
Cassie came all the way from Maryland to live with us, via my daughter...daughter couldn't keep her, so, here she is!
Cleo and her sister, Yow-Yow, came home with us from a garage sale shortly after we were married in 2004. Two little kittens running around and hubby asked, "Why don't they have price tags"-joking, of course! Lady said, we were hoping to find them good, free homes...Well, we couldn't break up the set!!
Brady, dear sweet Brady. My son got him from an animal rescue when he was just 6 weeks old. Brady loves kids and his "Daddy", but, other women-ahem, girlfriend-not so much. So, he came to live with us.
Nina, Nina is a story! My daughter found her in the middle of a very busy road and almost got hit by a car herself, rescuing her from the road. Poor Nina was approx. 2 y/o yet, the Vet felt she'd had many more than just one or two litters. Oddly enough, not far from where she was found is a home that ALWAYS has Chihuahua and Dachshund puppies for sale...I guess Nina may have been a result of that place and she ran away to help herself find a warm and loving home!
***All of our animals (10 dogs/9 cats) are spayed or neutered!!***
